They're cut to fit over other insulation, and they're long enough to allow a full range of motion. The waist cinches with a releasable buckle, and the cuffs snug down over your boots with shock cord and cord locks. We place one flapped pocket on the right thigh, and seal it with stainless steel snaps. It's large enough for a map or a meal.
