Shell Layers Arctic Anorak: New Pattern for 2007    Sewn right in Duluth, MN.
Arctic Anorak

Our Spartan anorak performs the two tasks of a winter shell with ease. The tight weave of our pre-shrunk 6.3 ounce Cotton Canvas completely defeats the wind that robs warm air from your insulation layers. At the same time, it allows your body's own perspiration to escape so you stay dry and comfortable.

We're proud to offer this ages old idea with a contemporary fit and finish. The Raglan sleeves offer plenty of  reach, while the generous cut lets you pull your arms in to change your insulation layers without exposing yourself. Our hood adjusts for height and circumference, so you'll always find the perfect fit. When the wind howls, pull the single handed visor cords to protect your face. There's a zipper on the hood opening so you can add a fur ruff for those brisk afternoons when you're locked in a battle of wills with a torpid lunker. The stovepipe gusset at the neck closes with two foolproof toggles, so you'll never be hampered by a broken zipper in the field. Our low profile pocket has a reach through zipper for accessing gear or water bottles. The hem, hood, and waist cinch cords are removable for servicing, Our pocket is placed high enough that you may also use an external sash. The cuffs seal over a thin mitten with hook and loop tabs, or cinches down to slide inside the gauntlets of our True North Mitts.

The Arctic Anorak is ideal for the snow nomad who wanders for days or weeks on end, and wants a garment that won't fail. Our original anorak proved itself in countless cold spots in both hemispheres. Now we've brought it up to date. Fabric: 6.3 ounce Cotton Canvas Color: Natural. Sizes: XS, SM, MD, LG, XL (XXL by special order.)

making fur ruffs from reclaimed coats

We reclaim our Coyote fur from old coats, instead of using new pelts. Synthetic ruffs are available, though they do not cut the wind or release frost as well as natural fur.
